GIACARANGI.COM: WHO WE ARE
We're a pair of Gia enthusiasts dating back to 1993 when Stephen Fried's bio,
Thing of Beauty, was released.
Around that time, we were lucky enough to
have taped a 12-minute TV report on Gia, from the now-defunct show
Hard Copy.
Cut to the year 2000, when a fledgling
Ebay was becoming a virtual gathering place for Gia Carangi fans and
her coveted magazines. We created an auction for those 12 little
minutes of footage, not knowing what pandemonium it would generate.
We were contacted by literally hundreds of fans desperate to see Gia
moving and talking on film.

At that time, live footage of Gia was unheard of. The ABC
20/20
report from 1982 was all but forgotten, and E!'s
True Hollywood Story
wasn't yet a gleam in its producer's eye. In fact, the
Hard
Copy and
Extra
reports are in circulation
today thanks to that little video's
appearance on Ebay. See it here, or on MySpace and YouTube sites.
GiaCarangi.com was created more than seven years ago, in late 1999.
To the left is a homepage view of the site when it debuted on January
10, 2000. (Click to enlarge). After a recent two-year hiatus, we re-
launched GiaCarangi.com with a fresh perspective. Our goal is for Gia
enthusiasts to have one simple
place to view her entire body of work, to
acquire rare Gia artifacts, and to "encounter" her in three creative ways. So, have a look around...and enjoy!
