Here are some proven tips to help you win the auction:

Use odd dollar amounts.
Most bidders think in even
numbers, and set their secret bid maximums accordingly. Set yours to
an odd number. Say $45.00 is your max. Bid $45.67. It
could be the difference of you winning by just pennies more than the other
bidders.
#2 Add
the auction to your Ebay Watch List.
This way, you can
come back when the auction's close to ending, and...
#3 ...bid
at the last minute.
Never
bid early. It unnecessarily raises the price of the auction when
there's still so much time left. It also allows the current high
bidder an opportunity to rethink their bid and go in higher (since
they receive an alert that you outbid them). If you can help it,
wait until the last minutes of the auction to submit your bid.
